VISA

All visitors to Indonesia are required to possess a valid passport with an expiration date at least 6 months after the date of entry into the territory of Indonesia. Passports must contain at least two blank visa pages. The “amendment” and “endorsement” pages at the back of the passport do not generally count as blank pages and cannot be used for visa and stamp for entry permit purposes.

1. 1. DIPLOMATIC OR OFFICIAL/SERVICE PASSPORT HOLDERS CAN QUALIFY FOR VISA EXEMPTION
   Nationals from 49 countries who hold Diplomatic or Official/Service Passports are exempt from the visa requirements to enter the territory of Indonesia for a short visit of up to 30 days.
   
   Diplomatic/service passport holders whose countries are not listed below should apply for a Conditional Visa on Arrival. See above for instructions.

2. 2. VISA ON ARRIVAL
   The Visa on Arrival for Bali Indonesia, also referred to as VoA, has been the main visa, most tourists have used in the last decades to enter Indonesia. In accordance with the Regulation of Minister of Law and Human Right of the Republic of Indonesia No. M.HH-01.GR.01.06, on 12 January 2010, citizens from countries listed below are eligible for obtaining a visa on arrival directly when landed at airports or seaports in Indonesia.
   
   Visa on Arrival is subject to a $35 USD fee for stay up to 30 (thirty) days  (USD, Euros and Rupiah are accepted), payable by cash on arrival. Money exchange and banking services are available next to the Visa on Arrival desk in the airport arrivals area, for those who need to exchange money to pay the fee. Should holders of diplomatic and official/service passports, including all ministers and heads of delegations, wish to apply for Visa on Arrival, the said fee shall apply and be borne on them. Visa on Arrival is extendable (within 7 days before the expiry date) to another 30 days at the nearest Immigration office in Indonesia but is not convertible to other types of visas. Overstaying this visa is a serious offence. Fines, blacklisting, confinement and deportation are all possible penalties for infractions. Extension of stay up to 30 (thirty) days costs USD 25.

   By Presidential Decree of 21 of 2016 dated on 2 March 2016 on Visa Free, replacing Presidential Regulation Number 104/2015 on Amendments to Presidential Regulation Number 69/2015 on Visa Free. Indonesia now provides a special Short Stay Visa Free facilities for tourists who are nationals of a total 169 countries who wish to travel to Indonesia.

   Tourist Visa Free Facilities are valid for 30 days, are non-extendable and cannot be transferred into any other type of of stay permit.
   
   The visa exemption facility can be used for tourism, family visit, social visit, art and cultural, government duty, to deliver a speech or attend a seminar, international exhibition,meetings with head office or representative office in Indonesia, or transit.

Deadline to request Letter of Invitation is 12 August 2018.

CUSTOMS

Customs allow on entry of maximum one liter of alcoholic liquor, 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 100 grams of tobacco and reasonable amount of perfume per adult. Wine, liquor and beer are available in licensed hotels,  bars, restaurants, and grocery stores.
 
Cameras, video cameras, portable radio, cassette recorders, binoculars, and sports equipment are admitted provided for personal use. Prohibited items include firearms, illegal drugs, pornography, and transceivers. The Censor Board of Indonesia should screen any films, pre-recorded videotapes, VCD or DVD’s before importing. Penalties for drug smuggling are severe.
 
There is no restriction on import or export for foreign currencies and Traveler’s cheques, however, the import and export of Indonesian currency exceeding IDR 100,000,000 (about USD 7,500) is prohibited.
