Professor Emil Salim
Professor Dr. Emil Salim, is an economist and former Minister to the Republic of Indonesia. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Indonesia in 1959 and then obtained his PhD degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley. Professor Salim has held a number of governmental positions, including Minister of Transportation to the Republic of Indonesia (1973-1978), Minister of State for Development Supervision and the Environment (1978-1983), Minister of State for Population and the Environment (1983-1993) and The Chairperson to The Advisory Council to President Yudhoyono (2010-2014). His deep understanding on economic development and the threatening risk that tobacco possessed has led him to work with government and civil society on advocating the importance of tobacco control. He is currently the advisor to the National Committee on Tobacco Control.

Professor Farid Moeloek
Prof. DR. dr. H. Faried Anfasa Moeloek, SpOG was the Minister of Health to the Republic of Indonesia in the Cabinet of Development Reform (1998-1999) and a member of The Parliament. He graduated and obtained his professorship in obstetric and gynecology from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Indonesia. He also further studied Ob-Gyn in Johns Hopkins University. International Society on Human Reproduction gave him a Honorary Member due to his immense work in health reproductive. Professor Farid is also known for his initiation and strong support on tobacco control advocacy, regulation and action by both government and civil society and has been the advisor and board member to the National Committee on Tobacco Control (NCTC) for more than 10 years. Professor Farid was the Executive Chairperson for NCTC from 2003 - 2012.

Nafsiah Mboi
Dr. Nafsiah Mboi, a pediatrician and Master of Public Health by training, served as Minister of Health of lndonesia (2012-2014) and Board Chair of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria (2013 - 2015). Prior to service as Minister she was secretary of the lndonesian National AIDS Committee for six years. She also served as Chair of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child and was a Director of the WHO Department of Gender and Women's Health in Geneva. Educated in lndonesia, Europe, and US, Dr. Mboi has been active in the field of health and human rights throughout her career with particular attention to women, children, the marginalized, and the underserved. She has long been an anti smoking activist both as a health professional and working with civil society. As Minister of Health, Dr. Mboi was particularly active, known for initiation and support of tobacco control advocacy and action by both government and civil society. She is presently a member of the National Committee on Tobacco Control.

Dr. Judith Mackay
Dr Judith Mackay is an Edinburgh medical doctor, based in Hong Kong since 1967. She is Senior Policy Advisor to WHO, Senior Advisor to the Vital Strategies/Bloomberg Initiative, and Director of the Asian Consultancy on Tobacco Control. Her particular interests are women and tobacco, tobacco in low and middle income countries, and countering the tobacco industry. She has authored 12 health atlases. She has received many international awards, including the WHO Commemorative Medal, TIME 100 and the BMJ Lifetime Achievement Award. She has been deeply involved with the APACT conferences since they first started. The tobacco industry has identified her as one of the three most dangerous people in the world.

Mary Assunta
Mary is an international tobacco control advocate with more than 20 years of experience. She is Senior Policy Advisor to the Southeast Asia Tobacco Control Alliance (SEATCA). She obtained her PhD at the School of Public Health, University of Sydney and her research reviewed internal industry documents. She serves as an adjunct senior lecturer at the School of Public Health. She was the recipient of the 2003 Luther Terry Award for outstanding individual leadership in Tobacco Control.

Professor Ron Borland
Ron Borland PhD is the Nigel Gray Distinguished Fellow in Cancer Prevention, at The Cancer Council Victoria, Australia where he has worked for 30 years. He is listed in the Thomson-Reuters List of the World's most influential scientists. He is one of the Principal Investigators of the International Tobacco Control Policy Evaluation Project: an international collaboration that is analysing the impact of policies on smoking. His has a special interest in harm minimisation strategies and strategies to assist highly disadvantaged, high smoking prevalence groups. He is the developer of CEOS theory: a comprehensive theory of Hard to Maintain Behaviour Change.

Bungon Ritthipakdee
Bungoon is the Executive Director of Southeast Asia Tobacco Control Alliance or SEATCA, the regional network for tobacco control in ASEAN countries. SEATCA works hand in hand with countries to advance tobacco control policy and promote the implementation of effective evidence-based tobacco control measures in ASEAN countries. She was also a founder and director of Action on Smoking and Health Foundation (ASH) Thailand (1991-2000). She played very active role in introducing some of the best tobacco control policies in Thailand including Tobacco Control Law, tobacco taxation policy and the establishment of the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (funded by 2% surcharged tobacco and alcohol taxes). She was a recipient of a prestigious Luther Terry Award in 2006 for Outstanding Individual leadership and the WHO award on Tobacco Control in 2001.

Professor Prakitt Vethesatogkit
Prof. Dr. Prakit Vathesatogkit, MD, FRCP had thirty years experiences in tobacco control, at national, regional and global level. He served as committee member and has been involved in drafting as well as lobbying the parliament deliberation of the 1992 Tobacco Product Control Act and the revised Act in 2017. Prof. Prakit is the Executive Secretary for Action on Smoking and Health (ASH) foundation, the advisor to The Minister of Health, Royal Thai Government, Member of National Committee for the Control of Tobacco Use, Ministry of Health. He is also the Chairman of Sub-committee on Implementation of Article 5.3 FCTC, Advisor of Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health, Chair of Thai NCD Net, and formerly tha Advisor of The International Netwrok for Health Promotion Foundation (INHPF). Among the awards Prof. Prakit received are WHO's Tobacco or Helah Medal, APACT Presidential Award, Luther L. Terry Awards for Exemplary Leadership in Tobacco Control, B. Braun Award from Mahidol Uniersity, and The Most Outstanding Contribution to Promote a Smoke-free Society Award from the Thailand Ministry.

Mira Aghi
Mira Aghi, Ph.D is a Behavioural Scientist and a Communications Expert whose work has focused on intervention research and advocacy in Tobacco control in India and global-wide. Her immense work in tobacco control brought her to be the first woman from Asia awarded with the WHO Gold Medal on Tobacco Control in 1989. In 2006, she was awarded an Honorary Professorship (PhD) from Universidad Del Salvador, Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 2009, She was named as one of Twenty Women Achievers in Health Care by Modern Medicare magazine. On the same year, she received Tribute for Outstanding Service to Women, International Network of Women against Tobacco, 2009. She received the Luther Terry Award for tobacco control globally on March 21st 2012 in Singapore. Just recent (2017), she is elected to be on the Board of Society for Research on Nicotine and Tobacco representing Africa, Asia, Oceana, Middle East and Latin America and currently, she is the co-chair for tobacco control at The UNION. Dr. Aghi is the co-author of both of UICC manuals on Smoking and Children (published in 1982 and 1991) and is also the author of WHO strategy on Women's health as affected by Tobacco, 1999.

Dr. Prakash C. Gupta
Dr. Prakash C. Gupta is Director of Healis - Sekhsaria Institute of Public Health, Navi Mumbai. He is Visiting Scientist at the Harvard School of Public Health, Boston and Adjunct Professor of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the Arnold School of Public Health, University of South Carolina. He has a Doctor of Science degree in Epidemiology from the Johns Hopkins University, U.S.A., and a Master of Science in Statistics from the Bombay University. He was the President of the 14th World Conference on Tobacco or Health 2009 in Mumbai, India. He has received several awards including Luther Terry Award from the American Cancer Society for Exemplary Leadership in Tobacco Control in the category of Outstanding Research Contribution in August 2003 and Tobacco Free World Award from the Director General, World Health Organisation, Geneva on 1999 for Outstanding Contributions to Public Health.

Prabodh Bhambal
Prabodh Bhambal brings over 20 years of budget, finance, and project management experience to his position at The Union, where he has been responsible for its global financial operations, including 200 projects in 89 countries, since 2007. He serves as Chief Financial Officer, overseeing the financial assets and working closely with the Executive Director to streamline operational systems, and as Regional Director of The Union Asia Pacific Office. His distinguished career includes senior finance positions in several public health organisations, and he is currently also the Executive Vice President of Vital Strategies, The Union affiliate in North America. As a financial consultant for WHO, he assisted in developing the national TB programme budget; and as Programme Officer-Health for the Aga Khan Foundation, he implemented a US$2,3 million post-tsunami relief fund for Andra Pradesh (India).

Dr. Douglas Bettcher
Director of Department for Prevention of Noncommunicable Diseases (NCD), World Health Organization (WHO), Geneva, Switzerland, Dr Bettcher holds a PhD in International Relations and a Graduate Diploma in World Politics, from the London School of Economics and Political Science; a Master's of Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine; and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Alberta, Canada. He sits on the Editorial Board of scientific journal Bulletin of WHO, served as vice-chair of public health interest group of American Society of International Law and as a member of Editorial Board of Global Governance journal. Dr Bettcher has written on globalization and health, foreign policy and health security, international law and public health, NCD prevention and control, tobacco control and trade. He has international and country-level experience (in developing and developed countries) in tobacco control. He was principal focal point for negotiation of WHO's first treaty, the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control. He provides global leadership for the High-level Meeting of the General Assembly on the Prevention and Control of NCD and for WHO's implementation of the NCD prevention component of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Professor Geoffrey T. Fong
Dr. Geoffrey T. Fong, Ph.D., FCAHS is Professor from University of Waterloo; Senior Investigator, Ontario Institute for Cancer Research; the Founder and Chief Principal Investigator of the International Tobacco Control Policy Evaluation (ITC) Project. Dr. Fong has published over 280 journal articles. He has served as an expert consultant to many countries on issues relating to tobacco use and tobacco policy including additives, health warnings, plain packaging, smoke-free laws. He is an expert for the Australian government in their defense of plain packaging at the World Trade Organization, and an expert for Uruguay in the successful defense of their policies challenged by Philip Morris International via a bilateral investment treaty. Dr. Fong was a member of the 7-person independent expert group to conduct the official impact assessment of the treaty over its first decade. Dr. Fong was one of three Scientific Editors of the January 2017 monograph from the US National Cancer Institute and World Health Organization, The Economics of Tobacco and Tobacco Control. Among Dr. Fong's awards are the 2011 Canadian Institutes of Health Research Award for Knowledge Translation, a 2013 WHO World No Tobacco Day Award, and a 2015 Luther L. Terry Award for Outstanding Research Contribution.

Professor Dayi Hu
Professor Dayi Hu is a Director of the Intervention Center at Peking University People's Hospital, President of the Chinese Society of Heart & Brain Diseases (CSHBD), President of Chinese Association on Tobacco Control(CATC), Senior Advisor on Tobacco Control. He Promoted smoking cessation clinic development and China's first quitline propaganda in China. He sets up smoking cessation parallel session at Great Wall Congress of Cardiology Since 2004. Over the years he had hosted more than 20 international conferences in China and Asia-Pacific. He has been a huge proponent of smoking cessation Education in China as actively carry out tobacco control training and smoking cessation Lecture. He also focuses on the treatment and prevention of hypertension, coronary heart disease, heart failure, and arrhythmias. He has been recognized with a number of awards, such as the "National Prize for Progress in Science and Technology" (twice), "Chinese physicians award" and "Beijing Advanced Science Workers", "Contribution Awards for Chinese on Tobacco Control" to name a few.

Mark Hurley
As Director of International Communication for Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids in Washington, DC, Mark Hurley oversees programs to increase the quantity and quality of media coverage of tobacco control and the tobacco industry to create a conducive environment for public health policy. He manages investigative journalism programs; training for journalist in dozens of low- and middle-income countries; and media advocacy training for civil society groups. He developed a ground-breaking effort to utilize social media in low- and middle-income countries to mobilize online followers to actively support policy change, and he manages Tobacco-Free Kids' efforts to systematically discredit the tobacco industry. Prior to joining Tobacco-Free Kids, Mr. Hurley served as Marketing and Communication Director of the World Wildlife Fund's (WWF) Global Forest Trade Network, an organization of the world's largest forest products companies suppporting sustainable forestry.

Sandra Mullin
Sandra Mullin has 20 years of experience in public health strategic communication, policy advocacy, and social marketing. She leads a global team of 45 people and, working with governments and civil society partners, has overseen the implementation of media campaigns to influence policy and behavior change in over 30 countries in Asia, Latin and South America, Europe and Africa. Prior to joining Vital Strategies (formerly World Lung Foundation) in 2007, Ms. Mullin spent 12 years in New York City government as Communications Director to the New York City Council, and before that, as Director of Communication for the New York City Department of Health. She was an integral player in the successful campaign to secure the world influencing NYC Smoke-Free Air Act of 2002. She has given numerous talks and published papers on strategic, risk and crisis communication and on the media campaigns she was instrumental in launching in low and middle income countries. She has been extensively quoted in media stories, written commentaries for such periodicals as The Lancet and Huffington Post, and has been profiled in PR week. She holds a B.A. in Political Science from Hofstra University, a Master's Degree in Social Work and three years of political science doctoral work work at The City University of New York, and a Certificate in Business Excellence from Columbia Business School.

Ted Chen
Ted Chen is the founder and Executive Secretary of Asia-Pacific Association for Control of Tobacco (APACT). He is also the Chief advisor and Board member for John Tung Foundation and the Vice-President of World Association of Chinese Public Health Professionals. Ted Chen has decades of experiences working in public health organizations. He was the 8th APACT President, former Member of the Executive Board for American Public Health Association, Founder and President of Asian American & Pacific Islander Caucus (APHA). Ted was awarded as 101 Most Influential US Public Health Professors, and earn Outstanding Contribution Award from Cross-Strait Tobacco Control Coalition and Chinese Association for Tobacco Control.

Professor Sea Wain Yau
Professor Sea-wain Yau received his JD degree from University of Iowa College of Law and licensed to practice law in California, U.S.A. In addition to his post as CEO in John Tung Foundation, Professor Yau is also a full-time law professor at Soochow University. Since joining the academia, he has taught Public International Law, International Trade Law, U.S. Constitution, Law of Negotiable Instrument, Anglo-American Law on Torts and Anglo-American Law on Contract. The author of numerous articles, Professor Yau's scholarship reflects his various academic interest, including transnational anti-corruption regulations, public interest test in anti-dumping imposition, legitimacy of war under international law, and transnational tobacco litigations.

Professor Hong Gwan Seo
Prof Hong Gwan Seon is a medical doctor and a family physician. He works for National Cancer Center of Korea and was a director of National Cancer Control Institute. His interests are in tobacco control policy, smoking cessation, cancer prevention, and cancer screening. He collaborated with International Tobacco Control Project with Canada Waterloo University. He worked for Korean Association on Smoking or Health (KASH) as a volunteer, and had been a member of executive committee for 15 years. He was the 2nd president of that organization since 2010 as a successor of Il Soon Kim. He was the Chairman for Smoking Cessation Clinic in National Cancer Center and in Seoul Paik Hospital, Inje University. He was a visiting scholar in Dept. of Family Medicine and Community Medicine, University of Massachusetts, United States. He also was a Chairman of Department of Family Medicine, Seoul Paik Hospital, Inje University, Seoul, Korea.

Kyoichi Miyazaki
Kyoichi Miyazaki, MPH, Pharmacist; is The Secretary General for Japan Society for Tobacco Control, whose membership counts of at least 4000 of physicians and co-medical personnel in Japan. He is also The Chairperson for Japan Kensei Kyokai (Seventh-day Adventist self-support institute) Secretary and Advisor to Japan Vegetarian Society (NPO). Just after obtaining his master degree in Loma Linda University, US, he involved in preventive medicine at the Seventh-day Adventist Church organization. His focus was a lifestyle change and tobacco cessation program such as five day plan to stop smoking. As tobacco activities, Mr. Miyazaki is a board member for The Asia Pacific Association of the Control of Tobacco (APACT), and a representative for NGO on the Conference of Parties (COP) of WHO FCTC. Currently, he is also working with Uchee Pines Lifestyle Center, USA on behavioral change program.

HE Professor Nila F. Moelek
Prof. Dr. Nila F. Moeloek is currently serving as Minister of Health, Republic of Indonesia. She completed her medical education at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia, where she pursued her medical specialty in ophthalmology, and in 2003 earned her Ph.D degree in ophthalmology. Professor Nila served as Special Envoy of the President of the Republic of Indonesia for the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) from 2010 to 2014. Under her leadership, the Office of the Special Envoy has successfully initiated and implemented a breakthrough program - better known as Pencerah Nusantara -- to accelerate the achievement of the MDG targets by sending out groups of young health workers dedicated to providing primary healthcare services to remote areas. Prior to her current post as the Minister of Health, she had chaired a number of high- profile organizations in the country, including national women's organization of Dharma Wanita, Indonesian Association of Ophthalmologists, and Indonesian Cancer Foundation. Under her leadership, the Ministry of Health has earned a number of important and prestigious awards and appreciations, including Best Public Service Agency Promoter, Best Gratification Reporting and Control System, award for Highest Compliance to Public Service Standard, and Best Technological Innovation award.

Professor Ronnachai Kongsakon
Prof Kongsakon is currently the consultant psychiatrist of Ramathibodi Hospital in Bangkok, He is also a lecture in the Faculty of Medicine, Mahidol University in Bangkok. Prof Kongsakon is also the Deputy Dean of Finance and Procurement, Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital. Mahidol University, Vice chairman of National board of Family Policy Board of Thailand, President Elect of Medical Association of Thailand, Chairman of the Thai Health Promotion Foundation, Health Risk task force, and active in many health organisation. Prof Kongsakon is active in research, he is Co-authored 26 books and more than 65 scientific articles in peer reviewed journal (34 articles available in PubMed).
